“INTIMACY CO-ED RETREAT”
September 30 - October 5, 2027
What if the deepest relationship work wasn’t about changing the other person… but learning how to meet yourself more deeply within the relationship?
Welcome to “INTIMACY” (INTO ME / INTO YOU I SEE): an intimate retreat experience on the Greek island of Kea devoted to the way we relate.
To ourselves.
To the people we love.
To the people who challenge us.
To the parts of ourselves that show up when we are in relationship with another.
Because intimacy isn’t just about romance.
It’s about our capacity to be seen. To listen. To receive. To express what we actually feel. To communicate a boundary without abandoning ourselves. To stay present when something feels uncomfortable. To soften our armor. To repair after rupture. To trust ourselves enough to let another person truly know us.
And sometimes, the people we love the most are the ones who activate us the most.
This retreat is an invitation to explore all of it.
“You don’t need to be experiencing conflict to desire deeper intimacy...”
- Anayat
The essence of this retreat:
Intimacy begins with the willingness to look inward.
Before we can ask someone else to understand our needs, can we hear them ourselves?
Before asking another person to honor our boundaries, do we know where our boundaries actually are?
Before asking someone to make us feel safe, can we recognize what safety feels like inside our own body?
Before asking to be seen, are we willing to let ourselves be seen?
This retreat starts with Self.
From there, we move into relating with others. And eventually, within the group container.
Self → Partner → Community.
Over the course of our time together, we’ll explore the patterns, protection, stories, desires and needs that influence the way you relate. Not simply by talking about them, but by experiencing them.
Through your body.
Through conversation.
Through play.
Through reflection.
Through being witnessed.
Through practicing something different in real time.
Because knowing how you want to communicate and actually being able to access that communication when your nervous system is activated are two very different things.
This is where the practice begins.
Together we’ll practice…
Nervous system regulation & co-regulation
Understanding your own nervous system is one of the foundations of healthy relating. We’ll explore resourcing, safety anchors, regulation and co-regulation practices designed to help you build the capacity to remain connected to yourself while connecting with another.
Boundaries & sovereignty
Where do you end and another person begin? Through embodied exercises, we’ll explore boundaries, codependency, self-responsibility and what it means to remain sovereign while still allowing ourselves to experience deep connection.
Attachment & protective patterns
We’ll explore attachment, armoring and the ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves in relationship. Not to label ourselves, but to begin noticing: Ohhh. This is what happens inside of me when I don’t feel safe. Awareness gives us choice.
Conflict & repair
Healthy relationships aren’t relationships without conflict. They’re relationships with the capacity for repair. We’ll explore conflict resolution, radical ownership, honoring, pendulation and the ability to stay curious about another person’s experience without abandoning your own.
Embodied communication
Communication is so much more than the words we say. It’s tone. Energy. Body language. Timing. Listening. Presence. The ability to express a need without expecting someone else to read our mind. We’ll practice communicating from a place that feels clear, honest and embodied.
Trust & intuitive support
What happens when we stop assuming what another person needs and begin learning how to actually listen? Through partner work, dyads and trust-building practices, we’ll explore giving, receiving, intuitive support and what it feels like to be deeply witnessed by another human.
You may come here because of your relationship with someone else, but somewhere along the way you might realize this retreat is really about your relationship with you.
The way you communicate with others often mirrors the way you communicate with yourself.
The boundaries you struggle to express externally may be the boundaries you haven't fully honored internally.
The love you have difficulty receiving from another may reveal where receiving still feels uncomfortable within you.
The moments you silence your voice to preserve connection may show you where you’ve learned that belonging requires self-abandonment.
This work isn't about deciding who is right and who is wrong.
It’s about becoming curious enough to ask:
What is mine?
What am I protecting?
What do I need?
What am I afraid to say?
Where am I abandoning myself?
Where am I asking another person to meet a need I haven't learned how to meet within myself?
Where could I listen instead of defend?
Where could I soften?
Where could I take ownership?
And where am I ready to choose differently?
Your partner.
Your mother.
Your father.
Your sister.
Your brother.
Your best friend.
Someone you love deeply but sometimes struggle to understand.
Someone you want to communicate with differently.
Someone you want to forgive.
Someone you want to listen to more fully.
Someone you want to practice receiving from.
Someone you want to feel safer being completely yourself around.
Or simply someone you already have a beautiful relationship with and you know there is another layer of depth available to you both.
You don’t need to be in conflict to desire deeper intimacy.
And while we encourage you to experience this retreat alongside someone meaningful to you, solo retreaters are absolutely welcome. Your relationship with Self is the foundation beneath every relationship you will ever have.
Come with someone you want to know deeper.
This retreat is for you if…
You crave more depth in your relationships.
You struggle to communicate what you actually need.
You find yourself people-pleasing, shutting down, over-explaining, fixing, controlling or avoiding conflict.
You want stronger boundaries without building bigger walls.
You want to understand your own attachment and protective patterns.
You want to feel more confident using your voice.
You want to become a better listener.
You want to learn how to give support without rescuing.
You want to learn how to receive without guilt.
You want to repair something with someone you love.
You already have a beautiful relationship and want to take it somewhere deeper.
Or maybe… you simply know there is more intimacy available to you than what you are currently experiencing.
Your Retreat Temple:
Perched on a hillside overlooking the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, Villa Nāos is our private sanctuary for the week. Nāos means “temple” in ancient Greek, not a grand monument, but the inner room where everything essential is kept. A space designed for slow mornings, sun-soaked afternoons, intimate conversations, and the kind of exhale that only seems to happen when you step away from everyday life.
Surrounded by Kea’s wild, rugged landscape, the villa embodies the effortless rhythm of Greek island living: understated luxury, breathtaking views, and plenty of space to simply be.
Wake to the sea stretching out before you.
For these few days, Villa Nāos is more than where we stay.
It becomes the container in which we practice being seen, being heard, and being together.

We aren't coming to Greece to sit in a room and talk about relationships for five days.
We’re coming to practice relating.
You may find yourself eye gazing with someone you love. Drawing your boundary in the sand and learning what it feels like to communicate from inside of it. Moving through a blindfolded trust exercise. Sitting across from someone and saying the thing you’ve struggled to find words for. Practicing listening without fixing. Receiving without immediately giving something back. Playing. Laughing. Swimming. Eating long dinners overlooking the Aegean. Having conversations that continue long after the workshop ends. And having plenty of space to simply enjoy Greece together.
Because intimacy isn’t only built in the deep moments.
It’s built in the play, too.
Intake Form
Submitting the intake form is the first REQUIRED step toward attending this retreat! After submitting the form, our goal is to connect with you personally and then you will be invited to submit a $500 deposit to reserve your spot on the retreat. During your intake call, Anayat will review payment options and can organize a payment plan if you wish.
And yes, this is still a vacation.
Depth does not require us to be serious all the time.
We intentionally created this experience with spaciousness. There will be programming. And there will be long stretches of nowhere you need to be. Time to swim. Time to nap. Time to explore Kea. Time to wander into town. Time to share a meal. Time to be alone. Time to be together. Time to actually enjoy the person you came with outside of the roles, routines and responsibilities you normally meet each other inside of.
Sometimes changing the environment gives us permission to change the way we meet each other.
And we can’t imagine a better place to practice that than Greece.

MEET YOUR GUEST FACILITATOR
Michael Lamerato,
Founder of Metro Detroit Men’s Therapy
Mike has been serving the greater Detroit area as a therapist for nearly 15 years. His passion for helping others traces back to childhood, where curiosity about human behavior and a natural instinct to look out for others shaped who he would become. In adulthood, he first specialized in post-traumatic stress before a pivotal moment at a men's retreat led him to his true calling — men's work. He noticed that despite their differences, men tend to share familiar pain and develop similar coping patterns. Finding little in the way of specialized men's care in Michigan, Mike set out to change that, and it has been his privilege to create spaces where men can heal.

Our Intimacy Retreat takes place on the Greek island of Kea, one of the closest Cycladic islands to Athens, just an hour by ferry.
We’ll be staying together at the private Villa Nāos, perched on a hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea. The villa will be our home + retreat temple for the full five nights.
-
You’ll fly into Athens and then take a ferry from the Athens area to Kea. The ferry ride is approximately one hour.
Once you arrive at the port in Kea, round-trip transportation between the port and our retreat villa is included. We’ll coordinate arrival details with the entire group beforehand so you know exactly where to be + when!
Ferry tickets are not included in your retreat investment and are approximately $15/person each way.
-
Fly into Athens International Airport (ATH).
From Athens, you’ll make your way by taxi/ uber to the ferry port and take the approximately one-hour ferry to Kea.
We’ll provide detailed travel instructions + recommended ferry information as we get closer so you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
-
Arrival Day — September 30: We recommend arriving in Athens the day before the retreat (Sept 29) whenever possible. This gives you a buffer for flight delays, time to adjust after international travel, and ensures you can comfortably make the ferry to Kea on retreat day.
Our villa check-in is at 4 PM on September 30.
Departure Day — October 5: Villa check-out is at 10 AM. We recommend either spending the night of October 5 in Athens or booking a later departing flight that gives you plenty of time for the ferry + airport transfer.
Exact recommended ferry times and transportation details will be shared closer to retreat.
-

This retreat is intentionally limited to an intimate group of 14 guests + facilitators.
Keeping the group small allows us to create the safety, trust and depth needed for the relational work we’ll be exploring, while still having enough people to experience connection within the larger group container.
-
No! And this is really important.
Intimacy does not only exist inside romantic relationships.
We encourage you to come with someone you would genuinely love to know more deeply. That could be your romantic partner, best friend, mom, dad, sibling or another meaningful person in your life.
Maybe you have something in your relationship you want to work through. Maybe communication has always been difficult. Maybe you want to understand one another better.
Or maybe you already have an incredible relationship and simply know there is another layer of depth available.
You do not need to be experiencing conflict to desire deeper intimacy.
-
Absolutely.
While this retreat is uniquely designed to give you the opportunity to deepen a relationship with someone you love, your relationship with Self is at the foundation of everything we’ll be exploring.
Solo retreaters are completely welcome and will be paired with other solo same sex retreaters.
You’ll have opportunities to partner with other guests during certain practices, connect within the larger group container, and—perhaps most importantly—explore how you show up within relationship.
If you're joining solo in a shared room, we’ll thoughtfully pair you with a roommate.
-
Our retreats are open to adults of all ages.
Historically, our retreat guests have ranged from their mid-20s through their 60s, with many guests falling somewhere within their 30s and 40s.
For this retreat specifically, what matters far more than age is your willingness to show up with curiosity, openness and a genuine desire to explore yourself + the way you relate to others.
-
Your retreat investment includes your 5-night stay at our private villa, all-inclusive meals prepared by our private chef, daily yoga + meditation, Somatic Breathwork™, intimacy + relationship workshops, a private group boat experience, Greek cooking class, Kea port transfers, professional retreat photography, welcome gifts, pre + post-retreat Zoom calls, travel support and plenty of intentional space for rest, play + integration.
Airfare, ferry tickets, travel insurance, gratuities and optional add-on experiences are not included.
-
Yes!
A $500 deposit is required to officially secure your spot after your application + intake call.
From there, flexible payment plans are available for up to 9 months through July 1, 2027.
If you'd prefer bi-weekly payments or need a different payment structure, let us know during your intake call and we can discuss what options may be available.
-
Absolutely.
You do not need experience with yoga, breathwork, somatics, attachment work or any of the practices we'll be exploring.
You also don't need to know all the “right” relationship language or arrive having already done years of inner work.
This is experiential work. We’ll meet you where you are.
All we ask is that you come with an open mind, a willingness to participate, and curiosity about yourself + the people around you.
-
No. This retreat is an educational, experiential + personal-development experience and is not a substitute for individual, couples or mental health therapy.
While Michael is a licensed therapist, the retreat itself is not psychotherapy and participation does not create a therapist-client relationship.
Our intention is to give you tools, practices and experiences that allow you to explore communication, nervous system regulation, boundaries, attachment, conflict, trust and the way you relate.
-
You will always have agency over what you choose to share.
Some of our practices involve partner work, dyads, group reflection and being witnessed by others, but you are never required to disclose something you do not feel ready to share.
Part of intimacy is learning to recognize and communicate our own boundaries and we want you practicing that here, too.
-
That's okay.
The goal of this retreat isn't to create five days where nobody gets triggered or disagrees.
Healthy intimacy isn't the absence of conflict—it's developing the capacity to stay connected to yourself, communicate honestly and move toward repair when conflict happens.
Our programming will give you tools for nervous system regulation, communication, boundaries, ownership, co-regulation and repair that you can begin practicing together throughout the retreat.
That said, this retreat is not designed to mediate severe relationship crises or replace couples/family therapy.
-
Deep, playful, intimate + spacious.
We aren't flying all the way to a Greek island to sit in a workshop room talking about relationships for six days.
There will be meaningful programming and experiential practices, and also swimming, sunshine, incredible food, a boat day, slow mornings, exploring Kea, laughter, naps, long conversations and plenty of time to simply enjoy being in Greece.
Because intimacy isn't only built through the deep stuff.
It's built in the play, too.
-
A complete packing list + retreat orientation guide will be provided approximately one month before we leave for Greece.
Think comfortable clothing for workshops + movement, swimwear, layers for evenings, walking shoes, something you feel beautiful in for dinners, and plenty of room in your suitcase for memories.
-
We’ve got you.
Our private chef can accommodate common dietary needs including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free.
You'll have the opportunity to share dietary restrictions + allergies during your onboarding process so our team can prepare accordingly.
-
Due to the intimate nature of our retreats and the advance commitments required to create them, all deposits and retreat payments are non-refundable.
Travel insurance is required for all guests, and we strongly encourage purchasing a policy within 24-48 hours of placing your deposit with us that provides appropriate trip cancellation + interruption coverage for your individual circumstances.
-
Your first step is to submit the retreat intake form.
Once we receive it, Anayat will personally connect with you to schedule a conversation, answer your questions and make sure the retreat feels aligned for you.
After your intake call, you'll receive your retreat agreement, onboarding information and $500 deposit invoice.
Your space is officially reserved once your agreement is complete + deposit has been received.
-
No.
This is an alcohol + drug-free retreat.
Because of the depth of the nervous system, relational and somatic work we'll be doing together, maintaining a clear and grounded container is important to us.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and recreational drug use during the retreat. Violation of this policy may result in being asked to leave the retreat without refund.
-
Because this isn't simply a vacation.
You're absolutely going to swim in the Aegean, eat beautiful meals, lounge by the pool and experience Greece.
But underneath all of that is something much more intentional.
You're stepping into six days of facilitated relational work, nervous system practices, movement, breathwork, intimate group experiences, private chef-prepared meals, curated excursions, professional photography and a carefully held container designed to give you something a normal vacation rarely does:
Space to actually practice being in relationship differently.
You're not simply investing in five nights in Greece.
You're investing in tools + experiences you can carry into your relationship with yourself, and the people you love long after you come home.
-
Our pre-retreat group Zoom will take place approximately one month before the retreat.
This is our chance to meet one another before Greece, answer questions, review travel logistics + packing essentials, and begin creating the group container before we ever arrive on the island.
We'll also host a post-retreat integration Zoom after returning home so you have space to reconnect, reflect and explore how you're bringing the work into your everyday relationships.
